Shutter Now Available!

mUVe 3D DLP Shutter

They’re finally in-stock! The 80mm aluminum shutter will add a higher level of control to your prints and allow you to print with more sensitive resins. This ~2mm thick shutter is to be mounted on the servo of your choice, digital servos are best, and attached to your projector using double sided tape. With the shutter attached you can block the lens of the projector in-between layers effectively minimizing excess light exposure. The code to control the shutter is already included in our Creation Workshop profiles, and detailed instructions can be found on the documentation page. ~2mm Aluminum Shutter Plate 80mm Diameter with attachment tab

Updates

Replacement Fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) for the mUVe3D FlexVat

Just a quick update on our recent projects after a long weekend of progress. FlexVat instructions have been posted to the docmentation page. Replacement components for the FlexVat have also been added to our store. You can now order replacement FEP membranes and acrylic components. These are the only parts of the FlexVat that should ever need replacing. The tablet mount details should be coming tomorrow evening. We’ll have everything up for sale as well as final dimensions for all of those who have been asking. We hope to make the mount compatible with a large array of devices, but there are always limits to what we can do. So don’t expect to fit a full size laptop on the tablet mount :) Shutter testing

Tablet Mount – Coming Next Week

We know there are a fair number of you out there that want to run your DLP printers without having to leave your laptop or PC sitting in the office as a dedicated 3D printer computer. It’s a little known fact that there are actually some modestly priced tablets that one can purchase right now for under $100 that are completely capable of taking the place of your computer! One particular tablet we’ve been using as of late is the Winbook TW700. It features a quad-core processor, full size USB and separate charge micro USB, MicroSD slot, Wifi, and HDMI out via a micro HDMI port. It is based on Windows 8.1 and will happily run Creation Workshop without much of any loss in processing speed.

FlexVat – The Grand Arrival

We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’re days away from releasing an all-new flexible bottom reservoir. Gone will be the days of constantly replacing your printer’s non-stick reservoir coating. Now you’ll be able to get dozens, if not hundreds of prints before needing to worry about replacing any part of the reservoir.
